I found the Eiffel Tower of course, and the Arc de Triomphe (complete with unknown soldier) and some dinky little sidewalk cafes, the Moulin Rouge, the Metro, an art exhibition, museum and … shopping.

Oh my word! It’s lucky I don’t go in for the shopping sprees that some of my friends love! But I did drool over the creations by Vindi Vindaloo.

If you want the best, you want designs by Vindi Vindaloo. I have seen some of her absolutely stunning wedding gowns and evening wear before .. when someone wears a Vindi fashion you can recognise it straight away,

What a temptation! Expensive of course, this is Paris after all. Haute Couture.

Vindi is a superb designer and I don’t know why Simone is held to be the ‘best’. She makes some nice little things to be sure, but nothing out of the ordinary. The only haute I see in Simone’s couture is the price. (Of course, she was on TV and some people may think that’s a Big Deal)

I should mention, the Paris I went to this morning was Paris, 1900. I believe there are at least a dozen more around – now there’s some fun – go and find every Paris and compare them. By the way, you can click on these images to see them larger.

For exotic and sexy whimsy, you can’t go past the fanciful creations from Ronja Pera.

Have a look at this delightful caprice worn by Sarai Tizzy. “I adore her clothes,” says Sarai, “she just gets better and better.”

You can always pick a Ronja outfit, can’t you? Her novel boot style was quickly copied by many a shoemaker and there are now literally thousands of similar styles on many many happy feet in-world.

What’s more, Ronja is a genuinely nice woman, a refreshing change from some other designers.

She has good reason to be disheartened, one of her clothing packs was, to all intents and purposes, stolen .. or at least misused, by a former friend .. resulting in half of her second collection being killed. But, with unfailing good humour, she has put this behind her and is concentrating on the future.

Do yourself a favour and drop into her store for her brand new collection release for Spring. If you’re lucky, you may even run into Ronja herself.

She gives such close attention to little details, the tattoos, the fine work of the textures, the nail polish and all this combines into an exciting and novel fashion statement.

You will never hear a bad word about Ronja. And that’s a novelty in itself.

Guest Post by Zipporah Zamani, Fashion Correspondent

I really don’t know why some people fuss about Simone’s outfits. I have heard her dresses described as haute couture but the only haute I could ever see in her couture was the price tag.

If I am going to pay top lindens for a frock, I want something with panache, with style, with zing. Something with je ne sais quoi that’s a real head-turner.

Her frocks are nice that’s true, and she uses some lovely textures. But real glamour, style and high fashion? I don’t think so.

It seems to me that Simone has just been around a long time.

She was one of the first to create stylish clothes using textures instead of paint and basing her designs on what was available in RL fashion magazines. Of course she was described in one of the first TV documentaries about SL as ‘The Top Fashion Designer” and people believe what they see on television.

In any case, she has some dresses out at the moment for $100 which is a good price for the quality. (I would happily pay $200 for these frocks of such delicate textures.)

They may be retired stock, some were displayed when CSI hit town. Last Call they may not be, but for $100.. a good buy

Simone :
