The servers can’t take the load. Truly, I really feel close to setting my land as inaccessible except to those who display “Payment Info on File”. Perhaps I will do that anyway. As soon as I can login!

[4:30PM Pacific] We are experiencing connection failures between parts of the grid. This problem will manifest itself inworld as failed Teleports, problems loading inventory, failure to fully rez (ruthing), etc. Some Residents are currently unable to log in, and we are working with our service provider to diagnose this as quickly as possible. In the mean time, please avoid making important transactions or rezzing no-copy objects.

If I promise not to make any important transactions and not to rezz no-copy items, can I come in and speak to 4 clients who are inworld?

(they are calling it hiatus)

The story is at <a href="http://phaylen.com/blog/"target="_blank">DIVAS 2.0

In DIVAS, Phaylen Fairchild, Kit Maitland, Evie Fairchild, Sally Rosebum and Allatu Augustus play a group of fashionistas who end up in crazy situations. Bredero Jevon, the only male, plays Phaylen’s next door neighbour and perpetual love interest.

As one of the original pioneers of Second Life, arriving at the end of its Alpha Phase of development, Phaylen will celebrate her 6th anniversary (Rez-Day) this December. She was one of the first virtual fashion designers, the first to host an immersive role playing event, a house member in the hilarious first ever virtual Big Brother from CBS and Endemol entertainment, and she hosted the Annual Metaverse Awards show which honoured excellence in virtual content creation.

I am an avid fan of this series. The Bloopers and Out-Takes are also wonderful, here’s one of my favourites in which <a href="http://phaylen.com/blog/?cat=39"target="_blank">Phaylen says she will never work with animals again.

My beady eye was caught by an interesting post on zdnet with a title about SL

<a href="http://blogs.zdnet.com/Google/?p=1088"target="_blank"/>Google’s secret project turns out to be Second Life

“The concept behind the service is neat. You can create a virtual chatroom that goes way beyond the traditional, and post it on any website. Your visitors can then actually interact with each other rather than just type

Garett Rogers goes on to say

“Unlike Second Life, I suspect the currency will be real dollars, not something that’s made up.”

Of course if Garett came in-world to SL he would quickly find out that Lindens are worth real money.

(P.S. The programme, <a href="http://www.lively.com/html/landing.html"target="_blank"/>Google Lively, like the Vivaty on Facebook isn’t for everyone, Lively needs Vista before you can use it and Vivaty only runs in IE – a silly choice if ever I’ve seen one)
