It’s going to be a hard mountain to climb, starting from scratch with nothing at all, but if a chimpanzee can paint pictures I can pick up the pieces of my second life. And grin while I’m doing it.

This time, I’m going to deal only with Second Life itself and not trust another private land rental again. Not ever again. The person I was renting an island from, as I’ve said, sold his properties without a word to any of his tenants. Not a thought about returning the expensive tiers I’d just paid for the coming month. My island and shopping strip was sold, and the new owner returned all my objects to me.

So in my inventory I have the contents of an entire island, cathedral, chapel, open air wedding centre, romantic grotto, bridal retreat, two honeymoon apartments, dance hall, office, a boat and reception area with food, wine and knick knacks. Plus my two dogs from the Virtual Kennel Club.

I can’t see any option but to delete them – unless I rent another very large area with heaps of prims where it’s possible for me to rez them.

But no worries, I will start looking today for some suitable land to rebuild.

I received a comment from Mattaio Rossini. (Mattaio has been a friendly chap from the very first day that I met him).

Oye… how have you been? I took a 4 month break, came back and Cybertopia was dismantled… eeek!!! Well.. hope all is well with you

How can I start to answer that?

1. I took 6 weeks off to have some surgery, chemotherapy and generally recover from these RL problems.

2. I came back and went through what notecards etc had been dropped to me. No mention anywhere of what was in store!

3. Two days later everything was returned to me. Can you imagine? I had NO warning, no notecard, no communication. A whole mini island, full of objects was returned to my inventory.

4. I found out that Cybertek, from whom I bought this land 2 years ago and who has been receiving some hefty tiers from me in all this time, suddenly put all of his sims up for sale.

Someone bought his land – and booted me without any warning whatsoever

So that’s what happened. All of my (expensive) objects are now clustered in one block in my inventory. Buildings such as a cathedral, grotto, outdoor wedding building with various furniture items, expensive floral arrangements, 2 sky lofts, 2 more sky retreats, reception dance area with dances, cakes, 14 poseballs, seating for 20 guests, 418 landscape objects, my workshop with half finished clothing and (expensive) textures, mannequin etc.

I’m not counting the cheaper items I had, I’m only listing the ones which cost more than $10US. My buildings weren’t from a box – these were buildings commissioned from top designers and they cost accordingly – $25 US to $70US

I really don’t have the heart to start again.
